Wasn't sure what to expect as I had never stayed in London before and there were A LOT of choices for lodging. If you don't expect large US accommodations, you will not be disappointed. The Hyde Park Boutique hotel was not a large hotel which gives you a homey feeling. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and included lots of selection. The rooms are small, but to be expected in an historic building. The rooms and bath were clean and comfortable. Wifi worked with no problems. The location was great - not too far away, just a quick ride to the center of tourist areas, but public options for a lift are cheap. And being out of the center meant peace and quiet at night - we didn't hear any noise after our busy days.

Everything except the lack of lift! The staff are amazing; nothing was too much trouble for them. And of course the fact that one of them was able & willing to carry my bags up to the 3rd floor to save me from having to! Location is perfect too, 5 mins walk to Bayswater & Queen's gate tube, 7 mins to Paddington, half hour or so walk to Marble Arch, and about the same to South Kensington; just beware if you choose to walk it through Hyde Park (which is literally 2 mins from the hotel) the gates to Hyde Park shut at dusk, meaning walking 'the long way round' (still only about 40 mins) to get to South Kensington. Only a few tube stops to get to Notting Hill too, but I didn't have time to explore there again.

The Manager, Mr Mohammad Al-Emam, runs the hotel wonderfully well and has recruited a friendly, loyal and hard-working staff, some of whom we got to know reasonably well — Sam, “M.K.”, and Rohit. The location is brilliant, being only 15 minutes walk from Paddington, and 10 minutes or less to the Circle, District and Central lines of the tube system. The bed in our room was large and perfectly comfortable. And apart from the occasionally late comings and goings of other guests, the place is very quiet.

The staff members were very lovely, kind and helpful throughout our stay, especially the lady on reception Friday day and breakfast Saturday morning. Give that lady a pay rise! Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Breakfast was continental, with booked eggs and toast available, served a purpose. Walking distance of Hyde Park, shit walk to Paddington Station, location is very good and quiet in the evening too. Would stay again.

Firtsly, my room was pretty clear because when i come to room i smelt the surface cleaner below because they just cleaned it. The location is fine. But you should know that on the street where the hotel located, many people drink and smoke on the sidewalks. They didnt disturb me but thats the fact.
